Some people are born with music in their blood. As a young boy growing up in Oklahoma, John's life was immersed in music from a very young age. His grandfather owned a music store and his father was a professional singer. From the age of 5 John started piano lessons and began singing in church standing in the pew and singing loudly. Violin lessons began at age 7 continuing along with his piano lessons. At the age of 12, John began singing solos in church and joined the choir boys quartet. He participated in musicals throughout highschool, entering and winning various competitions and talent shows. Once in college, his talent and gift for singing allowed him opportunities to sing with opera greats Beverly Sills, Jack Harold, Richard Tucker and Gabriella Tucci. He went on to receive a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Oklahoma.

Over the years, John's experiences ranged from playing piano and violin in church, school and community orchestras to singing in gospel choirs, accapela groups and rock and roll bands. As a songwriter and singer, John became familiar with various styles of music. With his understanding of the human voice, and his love of all types of music, it came naturally to begin to help others learn about their voices. John began his teaching career in the Los Angeles area 25 years ago and since then he has helped countless singers find their true voice. The vocal techniques he developed and refined have worked for hundreds of singers in all styles of music the world over.

The development of his technique, The Complete Vocalist Method, and the amazing success that singers experienced using it, inevitably led to Hollywood calling and so John has served as a consultant and vocal coach for actors, celebrities, soundtracks and movies.

A life long singer-songwriter, John has performed throughout the United States and Europe. He plays keyboards, bass and violin. As a music producer, John has worked with international personalities producing all styles of music in his state-of- the art digital recording facility.
